Born
January 10, 1830 in Boone County but reared on the family farm in
Monroe County. He sold groceries and dry goods in Florida and Santa
Fe for eight years and later farmer for several years near Santa Fe.
He also had a nursery on his farm. On February 17, 1851 he married
Miss Amanda M. Bybee – they had seven children.

Farmer
and stock raiser of Santa Fe. He had only the highest grade of
short-horn cattle. Was born January 17, 1846. He married Miss Ella
Powell – they had five children.
