Confederate Veterans in Monroe County

Surnames A - B

There is no known record that identifies all the Monroe Countians who served in the Civil War. The following list attempts to identify the Confederate soldiers and was compiled using both official and unofficial sources, including “The Bravest of the Brave: Pindall’s 9th Missouri Battalion of Sharpshooters” by Carolyn M. Bartels, Sons of Confederate Veterans rosters, “With Porter in North Missouri” by Joseph A. Mudd, the 1884 History of Monroe and Shelby Counties, various cemetery listings, newspaper articles, and Internet postings.

Although every effort has been made to identify these soldiers, the compiled information may be duplicative or inaccurate; corrections, additions and related contributions are welcomed. A very special thanks to Neil Block, Commander of William T. Anderson Camp #1743 SCV in Huntsville, Mo for his generous support!
