George S. Allen

George S. Allen (1844-1887) who lived at Hickory Co, MO in 1860  but moved to Iowa when 
the war started. Their father was the local Postmaster.   George S. Allen  lived at Deepwater, 
Henry County MO after the war, where he died in 1887.   His unit fought at the Battle of 
Vicksburg.  I also have attached his pension document.   He enlisted in Company D, Iowa 
4th Cavalry on Nov 25, 1861.  He was promoted to full trumpeter on 01 dec 1861 and 
Mustered out on 08 August 1865 at Atlanta GA.  He was married to Maria C. Voyles of 
Macoupin ILL.
