Contributed by: Glee Krapf Thomas S. Shelton He was my 3rd great grandfather. His daughter Letty married William Calvin Neel. William's great grand daughter was my mother Jewell Neel. Thomas Shelton was married twice. First wife was Amanda Walker who was the mother of Letty Shelton Neel. Thomas was born abt 1805 in Lincoln Co., KY and he died 27 Feb 1878 in Miller Co., MO. He was quite old when he served in the Civil War. He must have been a sturdy and tough person. His second wife was Elisabeth Smith. She was 23 years younger than him and they had 6 children and with his first wife he had seven children. He had to be a special person. He also lived in TN moved to Marion Co., IL and then moved on to MO. Civil War Co. E., Osage Co., Regt., Mo. Home Guards. Captain Martin's Co. Film Number M390 roll 44 National Archives. |
