Samuel
Samuel M. Fisher was born in Shelbyville, Illinois in January, 1835. He was the son of Rev. George W. and Nancy Hibler-Fisher. He married Lucy Long, daughter of Nicholas & Elizabeth (Stephenson) Long March, 1860 in St. Louis County. He enlisted as a Private in the 1st Regiment, Enrolled Missouri Militia and was promoted to Sergeant. He was a Judge/JP in St. Louis County, Mercantile owner in Springfield and Postmaster at Sunset, Missouri. He died November 15, 1908 and is buried at Maple Park Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri. He was my Great Grandfather.
