John S. Tapley

John S. Tapley lived in Dade County for decades.  When he first moved there, it was with his wife 
Elmanda Harris Tapley. I believe she passed away and then he remarried Leah (last name not known).

Service Record: Promoted to Full Sergeant.
Enlisted as a Private on 10 September 1861.
Enlisted in Company B, 6th Cavalry Regiment Illinois on 17 Nov 1861.
Mustered Out Company B, 6th Cavalry Regiment Illinois on 5 Nov 1865 at Selma, AL.
His DOB was abt 1840 in Kentucky........We believe in Hickman Co, Ky. 
I do not know his date of death. I just presume it is in Missouri...........Dade Co. I need to contact 
Dade Co to see if they have any record of his death and burial cemetary. He is listed on the Dade 
Co Census record from 1870 and on. His pension was filed by his wife in Dade Co. He was married 
to Elmanda Harris for quite sometime and then married a woman named Leah. Leah is the one that 
filed the pension. John's sister Lucy Tapley Beard also lived in Dade Co, but have not found a date 
of death or cemetary yet. 
I have attached 2 pictures of John S. Tapley, 2 pictures of Lucy Beard (the one picture Lucy and 
John are sitting down together while 2 woman (daughters) are standing behind them. I have also 
attached a pension record and a census record.
