Enlisted Aug. 23, 1862 in Laclede, Linn County, Mo. Farmer, age 33, 6 feet 3, dark complexion, 
blue eyes, dark hair. 
Rank: Private. 
Detailed as blacksmith Feb. 9, 1864. 
Mustered out June 10, 1865, in Washington, D.C. 
Applied for pension: May 16, 1883, Cora, Sullivan County, Mo. 
Married: Elizabeth Cotter circa 1848 in Sevier County, Tenn., and they had six children. She died 
circa 1859 in Mo. Married: Martha Ann Cleaton Feb. 12, 1860 in Milan, Sullivan County, Mo., and 
they had eight children. 
Born Aug. 1829 in Sevier County, Tenn. Died Nov. 18, 1906 in Cora, Sullivan County, Mo. Buried 
in Deep Springs Cemetery, Sullivan County, Mo. without tombstone.
