Jacob Smith was born January 23, 1836, in Prussia and immigrated to the US sometime in the 1850's. His naturalization papers are dated 1860. Jacob enlisted and served in Company B, 1st Missouri Cavalry. He was discharged with the rank of corporal on September 30, 1865. (I have both his naturalization papers and his army discharge.) Jacob married Mary Ann Goulty on November 11, 1870, possibly in Clark Co., MO. They had 8 children, 6 girls and 2 boys, all born at Fairmont, MO. Jacob is buried beside one daughter, Zella, and on the same plot with Mary Ann's parents, Henry and Mary Goulty, in the Fairmont Cemetery, Clark County, Missouri. His stone reads, "Jacob Smith  Co. B 1st Mo. Cav. Died Dec. 7, 1890  Aged 54 yrs 10 M 15 D". Jacob was my greatgrandfather.  Mary Eileen Buck 
THOMPSON, JOHN THOMAS   -  b. 8 March 1840, Beverly, Adams Co., Illinois; d. 22 Nov. 1895;  Discharged as Captain Co. B, 28th Ill. Infty.;  He is buried in the Kahoka Cemetery, Kahoka, Clark Co., Mo.  Wife name was Elizabeth and children were: Rose who married my grandfather Oscar Watson, Margaret who married Dr. Albert Alexander, and Mary who married Frank Harkness.  all were from Clark County Missouri.  This information was included in case any of the decendents of his other children might see this posting and would like to

Burch McDaniel (1828KY-1881MO) was buried in the Bethlehem Bp. Cem. in Clark Co., MO. He enlisted in the Union forces as a Pvt. In Capt. Scott's Co., "D", 2nd Northeast Reg't, Mo. Home Guard. LLoyd McDaniel
Henry Eves Sisson:  born April 1, 1833, Switzerland Co., Indiana, died January 16, 1901, Luray, Clark Co., Mo., married  Margaret Ann Moyer, August 27, 1851, Switzerland Co., Indiana.  Came to Clark Co., Mo. in 1869. Both are buried in Conkle Cemetery, north of Luray. Henry served in Company E, 146th Regiment, of the Indiana Volunteer Infantry.  Enrolled Feb. 24, 1865, at Columbus Indiana. discharged August 31, 1865, with his company, at Baltimore, Maryland. William Kay:  born May 16, l834, Harrison Co., Indiana, died May 10, 1890, Peaksville, Clark Co., Mo., md. March 30, 1854, Mary Ann Toops, in Harrison Co., Indiana.  They are both buried in Peaksville Cemetery, Clark Co., Mo.  William enrolled in the Missouri Militia on August 9, 1862, at Athens, Clark Co., Mo.  Served until Oct., 15,1863.  Ordered into active service again at Alexandria, Clark co., Mo. There are two Confederate soldiers buried in Sand Ridge Cemetery in Cedar County.
John Morris Pace, 1831-1890, and Edward Milton Pace, 1837-1893.  They were brothers, and they served in Co. C, 6th Mo. Cavalry.  Edward Milton Pace was my great-grandfather.

Goodwin, Wallace, d. Nov. 18, 1862, aged 21 yrs., Co. B, 69th. Mo. Regt.

Lieut. Thomas S. Staples and Pvt. Lilliburn Mussetter, of Co. K, 69th. Regt. (Militia), were killed by "bushwhackers," May 10, 1863, near Fairmont, Clark Co., Mo.  Mussetter was the father of 10 children.On May 26, 1863, at Fairmont, a court martial of militia officers was held, and Samuel Dale and Aquilla Standiford  were found guilty of the two killings.  Dale and Standiford were exectued May 26, 1863, at Fairmont.  The burial sites of these two soldiers does not seem to be known.  Perhaps they were buried nearby, in the area of Fairmont, or since Pvt. Mussetter was from Lewis County, perhaps he was buried there.      Mary Jo Sisson March
