She said they should be in plain sight, but if not, ask for them. She plans to check old newspapers at the State Historical Library in Columbia.

Donna Lester, Chairman, gave an overview of all of the planned activities and displayed key chains and plates which are for sale. She also discussed the 150 Club and a calendar displaying historical homes which will be available soon.

President Morgenweck presided over a short business meeting with an election of officers for the 2006 year.

Officers are:

The Historical Society discussed the project for recognizing historical homes and volunteered to accept the responsibility. Anyone owning, or knowing of, a home constructed prior to 1900 should contact a member of the historical society. A meeting is planned for the committee to meet on March 2 at the Macon Public Library to finalize plans.

The meeting was adjourned with the next meeting scheduled for May 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the Apple Basket.
