In addition to farming, and his church, he was very community minded. He was a member of the Lincoln County Farm Bureau and was active in that organization. He served as president of the Sugar Grove Community Association and for many years, he served on the board for Sugar Grove Community Building.

He was a very sociable man and enjoyed both entertaining and visiting. He and his wife always had their home open to their family and friends.

Sometime back, his health began to fail, but he never gave in to the fact until forced to. He kept going, and kept his pleasant disposition to the end.

Charles MYERS’ concern for his family, his work, his church and community has touched many, many people. His departure from this world leaves a vast void and although he leaves so many pleasant memories, his presence will be greatly missed.
