Obituary for Ernest Herman Meyer (1904-1958)

Ernest Herman MEYER, son of John F. and Wilhemine MEYER (nee RAHMIER), was born near Moscow Mills on April 19, 1904, and passed away on April 30, 1958, being 54 years and 11 days old at the time of his death. He was baptized as an infant and was confirmed in the Evangelical Church in 1920 by Rev. Koehler. On April 9, 1938 he joined the Moscow Lodge No. 558, A.F. & A.M.

Most of his life was spent in trucking and garage business along with some farming. In 1942 he retired from trucking because of ill health. During the following years he was still fairly active until this past winter. About February 1st he became unable to care for himself so was moved to the home of his sister, where he was tenderly cared for until the end.

Besides his sister, Mrs. Lizzie GENZLING, of Moscow Mills, he leaves 2 brothers, Henry, also of Moscow Mills, and William, of Santa Barbara, Calif.; also 2 sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; 3 nephews and 6 nieces. One sister, Mrs. Minnie JUSTUS, preceded him in death 2 years ago. Services were held at Moscow Mills E. and R. Church on Saturday, May 3, at 2 p.m. Rev. Karl Albers officiating. Masonic services were held at the church. Burial was in the Anderson Hill cemetery with the McCoy Funeral Directors in charge.
