Obituary for Russell (Pepper) Martin (1925-2005)

BOWLING GREEN - Russell (Pepper) Martin, 79, of Eolia, died Thursday, April 14, 2005, at his home surrounded by his family and friends.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 17, at Eolia Baptist Church. The Revs. William Carlin and Rick Tucker will officiate. Burial will be at Eolia Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by American Legion Post No. 370.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, April 16, at the Mudd-Veach Funeral Home in Bowling Green.

Mr. Martin was born Aug. 28, 1925, in Briscoe to Russell Priestly and Mable Irene Strothers Martin. He was married to Betty Sue Coose on June 4, 1949, in Hannibal. She survives.

Other survivors include one son, Michael Martin and wife, Renee, of Troy; one daughter, Ginger Boyer of Bowling Green; one sister, Mildred Hunter of Eolia; five grandchildren, Bethany and Daniel Boyer, Nick and wife, Jordan, and Martin and Aaron Martin; and one great-grandchild, Camille Martin.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Dorothy Graham.
