Obituary for Miss Mattie Linthicum (1870-1906)
Uncited Clipping
From the papers of Mary Omahundro Hutt Walker

Miss Mattie LINTHICUM, only daughter of Thos. J. LINTHICUM, died Sunday afternoon, after a long illness. She was born on the KERCHEVAL place, near Moscow, Dec. 22, 1870. About a year ago her mother was burned to death in a fire that destroyed their dwelling, and since that time the daughter's health has been very bad. She was treated at the Missouri Baptist Sanitarium in St. Louis, a few months but was not greatly benefited. While there she confessed her faith in Christ and desired to unite with the Baptist church but was unable to receive baptism at the institution. Her remains were interred at Old Alexandria Monday. The aged father has the sympathy of all who knew him.
