A funeral Mass for Joseph C. LENK, 79, of Troy, was held 10 am Feb. 4, 1999, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Troy. Father Ed SCHRAMM and Father Dominic LENK O.S.B. officiated. Interment followed at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Troy.

Mr. LENK died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, at his residence in Troy.

Survivors include his wife, Esther of Troy; one daughter, Jean (Kevin) ELLIOTT of Troy; three sons: Larry (Ellen) LENK of Elsberry, Jerry LENK of San Francisco, Calif., and Father Dominic LENK O.S.B. of St. Louis; four step sons: Ronald (Nellie) EDINGER and Michael EDINGER, both of Troy, Robert (Jean) EDINGER of Kansas City, Mo.; and Thomas EDINGER of Wentzville; two brothers: Tony (Mary Ann) LENK of Troy and Glennen (Haroldene) LENK of Silex; three sisters: Margaret GROTHAUS of Silex, Blanche (Vince) McCARTHY of St. Louis and Ann LENK of St. Louis; eight grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren.

Mr. LENK had been an independent insurance broker (Lenk Insurance) in Troy from 1958 until 1982 when he retired.

He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Troy, Holy Name Society, St. Vincent DePaul, had served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post #94. He also had been an officer in Troy Chamber of Commerce and served on the Troy Volunteer Fire Department.

Visitation was held from 4 to 9 pm Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999, at the McCoy & Blossom Funeral Home, Troy. A special Rosary service was held Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Sacred Heart Building Fund or Great Rivers Home Care, Inc., in care of McCoy & Blossom Funeral Home, Troy, MO, 63379
