Obituary for Charles Gaedike (1893-1982)

Charles Otto GAEDIKE was born October 14, 1893 at Moscow Mills, Mo., the son of Fritz and Dorothea KRUSEMARK GAEDIKE. He passed away at the Medicalodge in Troy Wednesday, March 31, 1982. On November 8, 1933 he was married to Lydia Annie KLEIN. To this union was born three sons, Frederick, Carlos and Delbert. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents, two brothers, Bill and Fritz, 3 sisters, Lena, Angie and Lizzie, also his stepmother Sophia.

He is survived by sons: Frederick and wife, Darlene of Tulsa, Okla., Carlos and wife, Gwen, and Delbert and his wife Karen of Moscow Mills; one sister, Minnie McNealy of the Medicalodge in Troy; one brother, Frank of Moscow Mills; grandchildren: Roger, Angela, Kathy and Charles GAEDIKE, and Dean PARMLEY; step-grandchildren, Patricia CLARK, Barbara and John LISCHAK; and a number of nieces and nephews and many friends.

Mr. GAEDIKE was confirmed and entered the Friedens United Church of Christ at Moscow Mills in 1907. He later moved his membership to the Wentzville Christian Church where he remained a member until his death. He was a retired farmer, and enjoyed doing things with his hands, making things, and growing beautiful flowers in his yard, which he liked to share with his many friends and neighbors. He will be sadly missed by his family, and all of those who knew and loved him.

Services were held Saturday, April 3 from the McCoy-Paul Funeral Home, the Rev. Charles Gorsch officiating. Interment was in the Friedens United Church of Christ Cemetery, Moscow Mills. Mrs. Robert Hall and Mrs. Barbara Lampley were in charge of the music. The pallbearers were Fred VOEPEL, Harry VOEPEL, Roy MCNEALY, Earl MCNEALY, Herbert RAHMIER and Ernest KELLY.
