Obituary for Missouri J. (Stuart) Dixon

Mrs. Missouri J. DIXON, nee STUART, daughter of John L. and Louisia STUART, was born July 31, 1844 and died January 25, 1911 at her home one and a half miles west of Winfield, aged 67 years, 6 months and 24 days. She was married to John H. DIXON December 11, 1863. Ten children were born to them, eight of whom survive her. The living are John L., Miss Hattie, Robert C., Mrs. Susan YATES, Mrs. May KELLY, Winfield: Richard C. and Mrs. Louisia McCLELLAN, Elsberry and Mrs. Martha BLACKAMORE, St. Louis. These three sons and five daughters, with her husband, one brother J. G. STUART of Eureka Springs, Ark., a number of grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends mourn her departure.

She was converted more than forty years ago and united with Bethany Church and was a devout christian lady the remainder of her life. She had heard the Master's voice and entered into the rest that remaineth to the people of God. Her funeral was preached by the writer Thursday, January 26, at Bethany and was attended by a large concourse of people.
