Sugar Creek Church

The Sugar Creek Church at Sugar Creek was organized in 1885 by Rev. Chas. McCLURE with the following names as charter members: G.A.HAMILTON and wife, Mrs. Nancy LARUE, Mary LARUE, William DOWELL and wife, Martin SEGRASS, Lucy A. SEGRASS, Wm.REEVES, Lola REEVES, David M.BARRETT, Elizabeth BARRETT, Thomas COLE, Emily COLE, Jas. CALLAWAY, Jane S. CALLAWAY, Alimitta CALLAWAY, Josiah A.YOUNG , John YOUNG, Lizzie YOUNG, Caroline HALL, Jasper HALL, Almeda HALL, Wm M. McMAHAN, Nancy McMAHAN, Samuel MONTGOMERY, Robert ARCHER and others.

This is a flourishing country church with sixty-five members. They worship in a very comfortable frame church five miles east of Troy.
