Thompson Shults (his Father) 1 1/2 miles east of Moscow,
and in the spring of 1867 he moved the nursery to his own
place, and its present location 1 mile west of Moscow, and 3
miles south-east of Troy, Mo., on Telegraph Road.  The display
of evergreens is perhaps not equaled in the State, also
the quantity and quality of his nursery stock is second to
none, and his situation being high, and the soil a dry sandy
loam, wonderfully adapted to the growth of fibrous roots,
causes no stock to transplant more successfully than it does
from most of nurseries.  And last but not least, his judgement
and energy in the selection of varieties of fruits suited
for family use and market and adapted to his locality, is second
to none.  All are invited to call and see for themselves,
and those living at a distance wanting a bill of $10.00
worth or more will be kept over night free of charge.  Those
wanting smaller bills can club together with their neighbors.
