Obituary for Madison Z. Dudley (1848-1913)
No. 037 - Uncited clippings from the "Neva Murphy Hubbard Collection" of Beth Rengers Talken, 1998.

Madison Z. DUDLEY was born in Lincoln county, Mo., May 12th, 1848. Died, of heart trouble, Feb. 11th, 1913. He had been in poor health for a couple of years and for fifteen days his suffering was intense, but he made no complaint. He lived a meek, quiet life and was ready to meet his Maker. When he could no longer read his Bible, loving friends read to him. He is survived by a wife, formerly, Miss Ella STARKEY, and five children, Mrs. W.M. HUESKE of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. Horace NcNABB of Corning, Ark., Parks of Troy and Jesse and Crawford of Sunlight; also two sisters, Mrs. Annie FARMER of Kansas City and Miss Lou DUDLEY of Troy, to mourn his loss. Funeral was held in the church at Ramsey Grove Cemetery, near Starlight, Mo., where the body was tenderly laid to rest.

Note regarding clippings from the "Neva Murphy Hubbard Collection":  Neva Murphy Hubbard (1886-1971) lived all of her life in Lincoln County, MO.  She collected a large file of clippings of Lincoln County residents. The majority of the clippings were without citation. Beth Rengers Talken, beneficiary of the collection, has transcribed them for inclusion in our Lincoln County Heritage Records.
