Gee´s Creek Cemetery, Grundy County, MO

This cemetery is located in Jefferson Township; S29-T60-R25W. This cemetery is next to the location of old Gee¹s Creek Methodist Church which has been torn down. Nothing remains of the church but the foundation, steps, a tree or so, and some hardy bulbs, planted three years ago to beautify an old church yard. Gee¹s Creek was one of several on the old Methodist Circuit, and the 1848-1872 minutes of Antioch will mention it many times. Several Methodist ministers and loyal workers and founders of Methodism in Grundy County are here in the cemetery. To mention one, the name of Zela Conkling was listed often in the minutes as secretary. The cemetery, to be so old, is well tended, fenced, and currently used. Many stones have been lost; others need attention.
