Mrs. Lydia A. Ball died at the residence of her husband John Ball, in this city last Sunday evening, aged 69 years. Ten years ago she moved from Kansas to Dallas county, and had resided here ever since. She leaves a husband and one daughter, Mrs. S.S. Lundy Her funeral took place at the Presbyterian church and she was buried in the Buffalo Cemetery.
E.L. Bentley left this week for Michigan on a visit to relatives and friends.
The dwelling house of J.C. Wall near Tilden, was destroyed by fire last week.
The 13 year old son of Robt. Smith living in Jackson township died last evening of dropsy.
The 12 year old daughter of John Davis, of Jasper township, died the 20th instant of congestive chill.
A.J. Tibbs and wife left Saturday for Ft. Scott where they will make their home.
Died at Pattersonville, April 15th, 1888, Mrs. Lizzie Paxton. She has been declining in health almost a year until last Sunday ... she died at 2 o'clock in the morning. She was 16 years old on the 27th of February and was married March 13th, 1887. Her maiden name was Lizzie Evans. She was mostly raised by Franklin & Caroline Stevers, her mother's sister. Her parents are both dead, she leaves one brother, her husband and a 3 month old baby.
