In 1902, a committee consisting of J.G. Cantrell, G.E. Owen, E.A. Porter and
"Uncle" Dan Cloud
purchased five acres for $100 from Aaron Argenbright to form the Altona
Cemetery.
Katie Harris was the first to be interred in the new cemetery.
