SHANNON, Delmar W. (1909 - 2008)

Shannon, Delmar W. (Bill) - Delmar W. (Bill) Shannon, 98, longtime Platte
County resident, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2008, at the North Kansas City
Hospital. Bill was born August 6, 1909, in Drexel, Mo., to the parents of
William Jefferson and Margaret Shannon. He attended a rural grade school near
Drexel. Bill was employed by TWA in Kansas City for 35 years before retiring in
1973. Bill was a 50-year member of the Swope Park Masonic Lodge # 617 A.F. &
A.M. and a member of the Platte Woods United Methodist Church. He was preceded
in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters. Survivors include his
wife Veva Salley of the home; two sons, John H. Atkins and wife Holley of Platte
County, Thomas G. Atkins and wife Elena of Liberty; one daughter, Susan L.
Johnston and husband Jim of Platte County; seven grandchildren and 12 great
grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 14,
2008, at the Meyers Funeral Chapel, Parkville, Mo., with Rev. Tim Brooks
officiating. Interment will follow in the Rockville Cemetery, Drexel, Mo. The
family will receive friends for one hour prior to the services at the funeral

Missouri died Friday, August 1, 2008 in Butler. She was born May 22, 1988 to
Douglas Lee and Lea Ann Long Shannon in Kansas City, Kansas. Dora Lee is
survived by her father, Doug Shannon and wife Debbie of Drexel, Missouri; her
mother, Lea Ann Shannon and fiance Mark Cox of Butler, Missouri; a brother, Jake
Shannon of Butler, Missouri; two sisters, Bailey Shannon of Butler, Missouri and
Rosie Shepard and husband Matt of Pensacola, Florida; two stepbrothers, Kyle
Smith of Carthage, Missouri and Matthew Smith of Joplin, Missouri; two
stepsisters, Megan Smith and Jesse Smith of Drexel, Missouri; paternal
grandparents, Denny and Delores Shannon of Drexel, Missouri; paternal
great-grandparents Harvey and Jean Addleman of Adrian, Missouri; maternal
grandparents, Lee Roy and Bonnie Long of Butler, Missouri; two uncles, Matt
Shannon and wife Christian of Adrian, Missouri and Scott Long and wife Becky of
Butler, Missouri; and an aunt, Delora Fritts and husband Kelly of Drexel,
Missouri. She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Chelsea Ann Shannon;
maternal great-grandparents, Tim and Dollie Downing and Roy and Rose Long; and
paternal great-grandparents Damon and Wilma Shannon.

Larry Damon Shannon, April 16, 1939 - September 19, 2008. Funeral services for
Larry D. Shannon will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2008 at the Schowengerdt
Funeral Chapel in Butler, Missouri with Pastor Steve Koberlein officiating.

Damon Shannon, age 69 of Cleveland, Missouri died Friday, September 19, 2008 at
Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri as the result of a stroke. He
was born April 16, 1939 to Glen Damon and Doris Mae Trued Shannon in Merwin,
Missouri. Larry served in the U.S. Army. He was formerly President of Citizens
Bank and was currently serving as Chairman of the Board. Larry is survived by
his wife, Jean Shannon of the home; a son, Randy Shannon and wife Lisa of
Drexel, Missouri; two daughters, Kelli Koberlein and husband Steve of Lawrence,
Kansas and Angela Blume and husband Kevin of Louisburg, Kansas; two brothers,
Dennis Shannon and wife Delores of Drexel, Missouri and C. J. Shannon and wife
Teresa of Amsterdam, Missouri;five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and 2
great-grandchildren.
