SCHILLER, Charles (1870 - 1930)

Died Suddenly - Chas. Schiller, aged 58 years, died suddenly while at work in a
field on the Stanfill farm in Elkhart township Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Schiller
with several other men, were engaged in cutting corn. He became violently ill
and within a few minutes was dead. Dr. C. M. Rice of this city, county coroner,
was called and after learning the particulars decided an inquest was
unnecessary. Mr. Schiller was born February 14, 1872. For some time past he had
been a resident of Elkhart township. Surviving him are his wife and four
children, all of the home. Mr. Schiller was a brother of John Schiller who was
sentenced to the penitentiary in Bates county circuit court at the May term
after he had entered a plea of guilty to choking his wife to death in their
rooms in this city.
