ROGERS, Hubert A. (1943 - 2006)

Hubert A. Rogers, 63, Horton, Mo., passed away Thursday, Sept. 21, 2006, at St. John's Regional Medical Center, Joplin, Mo. He was born Aug. 26, 1943, in Emporia, Kan., to Reber Austin Rogers and Beatrice Bernice Schellenger Rogers. He and Nancy L. Milford were married on July 7, 1968, in Nevada, Mo. She survives of the home. Hubert grew up and went to school in Lebo, Kan. He was self employed nearly all his life. He operated a farm near Moundville for 15 years, lived west of Nevada for 15 years and lived in Horton for the past five years. He operated heavy equipment locally. Hubert was a member of the Friendship Full Gospel Church in Butler, Mo. Survivors in addition to his wife Nancy, include two daughters, Lori Black and her husband Kevin, Nevada, Tammy Conley and Robert Warren, Freeman, Mo.; one son, Harold "Andy" Rogers and his wife, Danita VanGilder, Lamar, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, Nathan, Erika, Austin, Candrah, Luke, Amber, Carlee, Dylan, Slater, Jerri, and Anthony; two sisters, Lois Kennedy, Butler, and Carol Richards, Lee's Summit, Mo.; two brothers, Paul Rogers, Butler, and Dave Rogers, Rich Hill, Mo.; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., on Monday, Sept. 25, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Charles Mathis officiating. Interment will follow in Balltown Cemetery, Horton.

Weldon B. "Buck" Rogers, 87, Humansville, Mo., died Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, at Citizens Memorial Hospital, Bolivar, Mo. Weldon was born Sept. 20, 1920, in Vernon County, Mo., to Delbert and Cora (Crum) Rogers. He lived in Vernon County, until moving to Kansas City in the early 1940s. He Married Patricia Journey Dec. 26, 1942, in Carthage, Mo. He and his wife, Patricia, lived in Kansas City and then Independence, Mo., until 1976. Weldon owned an auto repair business in Independence throughout the 1950s, '60s and early '70s. He was a member of the Independence Masonic Lodge No. 76, the Scottish Rite of Kansas City and Ararat Temple of the Shriners. Weldon was an active participant in all levels of the Masonic Temple and had many close friends through those organizations. Weldon and Patricia lived in a variety of locals until moving to Humansville in 1989 and lived the remainder of his life there. Weldon enjoyed nature, hunting, fishing, bird-watching and anything outdoors. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. He always enjoyed family gatherings and was devoted to his family. Survivors include, his wife Patricia, of the home; three children, Cheryl Molinaro, Estero, Fla., Carolyn Romondo, Olathe, Kan., and Sandra DePompa, Davie, Fla; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ivan Rogers, Shawnee Mission, Kan., and Calvin Rogers, Tucson, Ariz.; five sisters Emma Burcham, Lee's Summit, Mo., Dene Rogers Belton, Mo., Betty Rogers, Anderson, Mo., Beverly Rogers, Belton, Mo., and Madelyn Rogers, Las Vegas, Nev.; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Lester Thornton officiating. Interment will follow at Moore Cemetery in Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday between 1 and 2 p.m.
