REED, Billy Dean (1928 - 2007)

Billy Dean Reed, age 79, of Adrian, Mo., was born March 25, 1928, the son of
James William and Oma Berniece (Hurst) Reed. He passed from this life on Friday
evening, Nov. 9, 2007, at his home in Adrian. Early in his life Dean, along with
his family, moved to the Schell City area where he attended school and was one
of the graduates of Schell City High School Class of 1947. After graduation,
Dean, being an avid baseball player, played minor league ball for a time before
trying out for the St. Louis Browns. After his baseball years he and his father
operated Reed Truck Line. On July 14, 1951, Dean was united in marriage to Elsie
Cordelia Wells in El Dorado Springs. The newlyweds made their home in Schell
City then relocated to the Adrian area in 1960 making it their permanent home.
Dean worked for 24 years for Allied Signal before retiring on Jan. 1, 1992. His
hobbies included hunting, fishing and playing golf. He loved dancing and was a
member of the Butler Square Dancing Association. One of his greatest pleasures
was the time he spent watching his children and grandchildren at sporting
events. Survivors include his wife Cordy of the home in Adrian; two sons,
Michael Reed and his wife Paula and Billy Reed and his wife Robin, all of
Adrian; two daughters Deborah Hill and her husband Dean of Butler, Mo., and
Chrystal Mayfleld and her husband Terrry of Adrian; two sisters, Beverly
Cornelious and her husband Bud, and Janice Archer and her husband Bruce all of
Archie, Mo.; seven grandchildren; Tina Eidson and her husband Richie; Randy Reed
and his wife Heather, Kevin Hill and his wife Aspen; David Hill and his wife
Samie; and Maycie, Kaleb, and Mikah Mayfield; four great-grandchildren, Baily
and Gavin Reed; Brice Eidson and Oakleigh Hill; cousins, nieces, nephews, other
relatives and many friends. Funeral services for Billy Dean Reed were held at
10:30 a.m., Monday, Nov. 12, at the Schell City Christian Church in Schell City,
with Grady Davis officiating. Musical selections were provided by Kelci Davis,
Krystle Vantellman, Connie Gerster, and Sharon Goodman, Pallbears were Richie
Eidson, Randy Reed, Kevin Hill, David Hill, Dennis Vantellman, and Doug
Vantellman. Honorary pallbears were Tina Eidson, Maycie Mayfield, Kaleb
Mayfield, and Mikah Mayfield. Interment was in the Green Lawn Cemetery in Schell
City. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Alzheimers Association. The
funeral arrangements for Mr. Reed were entrusted to the Lewis-Hoagland Funeral
Home in Schell City.
REED, Larry Wayne (1945 - 2008)

Larry Wayne Reed was born Oct. 25, 1945, in Nevada, the son of Albert and
Ceraldine (Page) Reed. He passed away June 18, 2008, at Freeman West Hospital,
in Joplin, at the age of 62. Larry was raised in Vernon County and graduated
from Metz High School. Soon after graduation he attended auctionneering school.
He had a great love for horse racing and auctioneering until his failing health.
He also enjoyed animals. larry was a member of the Mezt Methodist Church. He was
preceded in death by his fiancee, Patsy Hamersley, in January 1992; his parents;
and one niece, Judith Ann Cole. Larry is survived by his step-daughter, Deanna
Hines and her husband Larry, of Wentzville, Mo.; two grandchildren, Ashely Hines
Molz and Shannon Hines and one great-granddaughter, Clara Hines, all of
Wentzville, Mo.; two sisters, Mary Anne Adams, of Nevada, Patty Sue Cole, of
Russellville, Ark.; one brother Tommy Reed and his wife Colleen, of Rich Hill,
and several nieces and nephews. Services will held today, June 21, at 2 p.m., at
Heuser Funeral Home, in Rich Hill. Interment will be at Berea Cemetery.
Pallbearers are: James Bond, Tom Tucker, Kenny Davis, Raymond Tucker, Donnie
Gast and John Pruitt. Honorary pallbearers are: Joe Neill, Tommy Arnold and
Scott Buerge. Arrangements by: Heuser Funeral Home, Rich Hill.

Lee Austin Reed 1918-2005 - Lee Austin Reed, age 86 years, 10 months, and
1 day passed from this life on August 19, 2005. Funeral services were held
Monday, August 22, 2005, 2 PM at The Wilson & Son Funeral Home in Drexel, MO.
