MORRIS, Martha Ellen (1849 - 1913)

OBITUARY -  Mrs. Martha Ellen Morris died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. U. G. Blankenship, near Altona, Wednesday, January 8th, 1913. Mrs. Morris was born August 4th, 1849, in Harrison county, West Virginia. She was united in marriage with Mr. A. B. Morris in the year 1863, to this union two children were born, a son who preceded her in death, and her daughter with whom she lived the closing years of her life. She lives to mourn the loss of a dear mother. Funeral services were held at the Christian church of Altona, conducted by Elder Hood of Adrian. The body was laid to rest in the Altona cemetery to await the Call of Our Heavenly father. She was a member of the Church of Christ and lived her profession. A faithful Christian until death. Beside a relatives she leaves a host of friends. To think of their loss but her eternal gain. With the picture of such a life we can surely say with the poet, Life’s race well run, Life’s work well done, Life’s crown well won, Now comes rest. Her age at death being 72 years, 5 months and 4 days. Rest in Peace.
