MILLER, Hobert D. (1935-2005)
Hobert D. Miller, of Urich, Missouri was born March 22, 1935 in Garden City, Missouri the son of George Bernard and Zoma Linnia (Williams) Miller. After fighting a long illness, he departed this life, Monday, September 12, 2005 at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, Clinton, Missouri at the age of 70 years, 5 months and 20 days. On July 22, 1957, Hobert was united in marriage to Mae Evelyn Copeland in Harrisonville, Missouri.
Hobert lived around Garden City, Missouri and Urich most of his life except for 5 years he had lived in California, where he worked in a cannery. He was a farmer and dairyman most of his life. Hobert was also employed in the maintenance department at General Motors - Leeds Plant, Kansas City, Missouri until his retirement on July 1, 1990. He was a member of the Cove Creek Christian Church near Urich, Missouri, UAW Local #93, Kansas City, Missouri. Hobert enjoyed hunting and fishing and his greatest pleasure was teaching his grandkids how to hunt and made sure they had good guns, good fishing gear and a good place to hunt and fish. Hobert and his family were known as the Bates County River Rats.He was preceded in death by his parents.He is survived by his wfie, Mae Miller of the home; three osns, Rickey Miller and Billy Miller and wife Brenda, all of Urich, Missouri and Jason Miller and finace` Crystal, East Lynne, Missouri; one daughter, Debby Miller, Garden City, Missouri; five grandchildren, Brandon, Michael, Richard, Angie and Cody; two great-grandsons, Payton and Brice; one brother, Forrest Miller, Garden City, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.Funeral services were held Friday, September 16, 2005 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri with burial in the Johnstown Cemetery near Montrose, Missouri. Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
