HOPKINS, Frances Ellene (1924 - 2007)

Frances Ellene Hopkins, 83, Sheldon, passed away on Monday, Nov. 19, 2007, at her home in Sheldon following an illness of several months. She was born Oct. 13, 1924, in Coffeyville, Kan., to Duff Brown and Emma Lorene Parsons Brown, Frances married Daniel L. Hopkins on Jan. 8, 1946, in Las Vegas, Nev., and he preceded her in death on April 4, 1993. Frances was born and raised in Coffeyville, Kan., and spent her youth there. She has an Associates of Arts Degree from Coffeyville Community College. Frances worked for many years as an accountant in a number of locals, retiring in Nevada in 1989. Following her retirement, she worked for years for the Drywood Township. She was a member of the Sheldon Christian Church, Sheldon; the Tri-County Genealogy Society, the Jolly Senior Citizens, Sheldon, and the TOPS Club, Nevada. Survivors include one son, Steven D. Hopkins and his wife Denise, Sheldon; three grandchildren, Joshua D. Hopkins, Raymore, Mo., Jeremy Hopkins, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and Robby Schreier-Hopkins, Sheldon; one sister, Connie Clark, of New Mexico.; one brother, Chadwick Brown, of Washington, She was preceded in death by one brother, Dillard Brown, and one sister, Doyce Bell. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Friday, Nov. 23, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with Andrew Kirschner officiating. Interment will follow in Sheldon Cemetery, Sheldon.
