Nina Mae Hockett, November 26, 1933 - May 29, 2009. Nina Mae Hockett, 75, Adrian, MO, died Friday, May 29, 2009 at Adrian Manor in Adrian. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 2 at the Scott Cemetery in Amsterdam, MO. No visitation. Nina was born November 26, 1933 in Henry County, MO, the daughter of George Horroll and Fern (Hughes) Corwine. Nina, the youngest of four children, grew up in the Amsterdam area where she graduated from the Miami RI School. After graduation she moved to Kansas City, MO where she got a job at Western Electric as a key punch operator. She held numerous waitressing jobs and retired after several years operating Hockett’s Upholstery. In 1952 she married W. R. “Ted” Hockett in Harper, MO. Nina was a member of the Amsterdam Baptist Church. She enjoyed camping, her flowers, feeding the birds and being with family and friends. Nina was preceded in death by her parents and a son-in-law, Forrest “Frosty” McGraw. She is survived by her husband, Ted, of the home; four daughters, Nylene McGraw, Mound City, KS, Ginger Filtingberger and her husband, Jim, Debbie Moles and her husband, Bob and Deanna Hockett, and one son, Dustin Hockett, all of Adrian, MO; two brothers, Norman Corwine, Colorado Springs, CO and Nason Corwine and his wife, Barb, Amsterdam, MO; one sister, Naomi Kershner, Independence, MO; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
