Dorothy H. Herstein, 77, Nevada, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, at Christian Health Care in Nevada following a brief illness. She was born May 19, 1930, in Nevada, to Marion Ray Moore and Lula Elizabeth Carroll Moore. She married Norman Paul Herstein on May 20, 1947, in Girard, Kan. He preceded her in death on March 31, 2000. Dorothy grew up in Nevada and attended Nevada schools. She traveled throughout the United States with her husband, a pipeline welder. Dorothy attended the United Methodist Church. She was an avid bingo player. She loved her children and grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, Gary Herstein and his wife Mary, Nevada, and Ron Herstein and his wife Judy, Nevada; one daughter Robin Fisher and her husband Gene, Nevada; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry Moore and his wife Marilyn, Springfield; one sister, Ruby Folkner, Nevada, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother and one grandson. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Dec.1, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, with John Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in Moore Cemetery, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service and the family receives friends 7-8 p.m., Friday evening, Nov. 30, at the funeral home.
