FRIEDLI, Alice Louise (1933 - 2008)

Alice Louise (Schlup) Friedli, 75, Harwood, was born on June 8, 1933, In
Plattsburg, to Bessie (Sims) Schlup and Jesse Schlup. She went to be with her
Lord on Aug. 1, 2008, after a lengthy illness. She was united in marriage to
Dewyne Henry Friedli on April 12, 1952, in Kansas City, who survives of the
home. She lived a full, active life which included 30 years of service as a cook
and an active charter member of the Faith Baptist Church – Walker. For the last
13 years, she enjoyed going to the Christian Healthcare Center, in Nevada, on
Thursday evenings where she sang gospel specials during their service and she
loved visiting with the residents. She had a great love for everyone and in
return was loved by many. The most important job she had was to raise and
nurture her family. Louise and her husband, Dewyne, had 10 children – Jim
Friedli – Nevada, Darrell and Shirley Friedli – Nevada, Steve and Tina Friedli –
Nevada, Warren and Roberta Friedli – Nevada, Rick and Diane Friedli – Nevada,
Janelle Friedli – Lamar, Sharon and Mark Hauf – Walker, Bob and Misty Friedli –
El Dorado Springs, Doris and Tony Micklich – Walker, and she was preceded in
death by one infant. She is survived by three brothers – Bill Schlup – Indian
Springs, Roy Schlup – Schell City, and Larry Poe – Odessa; three sisters –
Barbara Brown – Walker, Thelma Shutters – Schell City, and Bonnie Stone –
Nevada. Louise loved and enjoyed 39 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren,
several nieces and nephews, her church family and friends. Louise was preceded
in death by mother, Bessie Schlup; her fathers, Jesse Schlup and Edgar Poe; one
sister, Jessie Luther; two brothers, Jim Schlup and Tom Schlup, one infant
child; one granddaughter, Maggie Collins; and one daughter-in-law, Janie
Friedli. Services were held Monday, Aug. 4, at the Lewis-Hoagland funeral Home -
Schell City, with Brother Larry Brown and Brother Terry Mosher officiating.
Musical selections were provided by Lorne and Wyatt Brown. Pallbearers were
Louise's children. Honorary pallbearers were – Mark Hauf, Tony Micklich and
Glenn Collins. Interment was in the Green Lawn Cemetery west of Schell City.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Faith Baptist Church – Walker.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Lewis-Hoagland Funeral Home – Schell City.
