Thurs., Sept. 25, 2008. Funeral 2 p.m., Mon., Sept. 29, Underwood-Brandtonies
Funeral Home of Butler. Visitation 1-2 p.m., Mon., Sept. 29, prior to the

ALEXANDER, Charles Bobby (1929 - 2004)

Charles Bobby Alexander, 75, Archie, died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004, at his home.
Services were at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 3, at the Atkinson Chapel, Archie. Burial
was in the Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian, under the direction of the Atkinson
Funeral Home, Archie. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart
Association. A complete obituary will be published in next week’s Democrat
Missourian.
ALEXANDER, Charles Bobby (1929 - 2004)

Charles Bobby Alexander, 75, Archie, died Sunday, Aug. 29, 2004, at his home. He
was born April 26, 1929, in Rockville, the son of Eugene Courtney and Tressa
Leona (Parks) Alexander. Jan. 6, 1951, he married Phyllis Simmons in Archie. Mr.
Alexander moved to Archie in 1947. He was a U.S. Army/Air Force veteran. He
owned and operated the Phillips 66 gas station in Archie for seven years. He
worked in pipeline construction, retiring as a foreman in 2001. Preceding him in
death were his parents; and a sister, Betty Gairrett. Surviving are his wife,
Phyllis, of the home; a son, Scott Alexander and his wife, Dana, Archie; a
daughter, Donna Alexander, Belton; two brothers, Bill Alexander and his friend,
Phyllis, Rockville, and Sam Alexander and his wife, Janice, Blue Springs; four
sisters, Bonnie Sweet, Windsor, Wilma Atkinson, and her husband, Leo, and Mary
Anne Elliott and her husband, Jerry, all of Archie, and Etta Sue Arndt and her
husband, Don, Adrian; two grandsons, Shaun Muncy, Archie, and Nathan Muncy,
Belton. Pallbearers were Shaun Muncy, Nathan Muncy, Brett Atkinson, Kevin
Elliott, Kent Dobson and Doss Sweet.
Services were Friday, Sept. 3, at the Atkinson Chape, Archie, with the Rev. Joe
Crook officiating. Burial was in the Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian, under the
direction of the Atkinson Funeral Home, Archie. Military honors were under the
auspices of the Harrisonville Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to
the American Heart Association.
ALEXANDER, Leo F. (1914 - 2008)

Leo F. Alexander, September 20, 1914 - August 2, 2008 - Leo F. Alexander, 93,
formerly of Drexel, Mo., passed away Saturday, August 2, 2008, at Willow Lane
Nursing Center in Butler, Mo. Leo was born September 20, 1914 in Aurora, Mo., a
son of Ollie Clay and Amanda (Applegate) Alexander. He was united in marriage to
Jessie Durrell Alexander on April 21, 1943 in Merwin, Mo. They were married for
64 years until she preceded him in death on July 9, 2007, at the age of 88. Leo
was a farmer, and he and Jessie lived most of their married life in Drexel. They
enjoyed their farm life, particularly raising chickens and selling eggs. Leo was
preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Jessie. He is survived by a
niece, Desma Carey of Vail, Ariz., and many other friends and family. Visitation
will be Wednesday, August 6, 2008, from 10-11am at Mullinax Funeral Home,
Drexel, with a funeral service at 11. Burial will follow in Sharon Cemetery,
Drexel. Memorial contributions in Leo’s memory are suggested to Heartland
Hospice, in care of the funeral home. The family is being assisted by Mullinax
Funeral Home, 816-657-4400.
ALEXANDER, Paul Bernard (1942 - 2000)

PAUL BERNARD ALEXANDER - Paul Bernard Alexander, 57, Amoret, Mo., died Friday,
Jan. 7, 2000 at Bates County memorial Hospital in Butler, Mo. Services were Jan.
11 at the Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel in Butler with Pat McGuire officiating.
Burial in Adam Howell Cemetery, Virginia, Mo. Mr. Alexander was born Aug. 2,
1942 in Bolivar, Mo., to Bernard and Maurine A. Brobisky Alexander. He grew up
in Springfield, Mo., where he attended high school. He lived in Shawnee Mission,
Kan., before moving to Butler in 1992. As a truck driver, he transported steel
and steel fabrication, retiring in 1992 because of poor health. He married JoAnn
Merriman and to this union a son and daughter were born. He attended the Baptist
Church and most recently the Virginia Mission. He leaves a daughter, Sheri
Marvin and husband Thomas, Hoffman Estates, Ill.; five grandchildren, Jennifer,
Melissa and Sarah Marvin and Austin Paul and Anna Lee Alexander. He was preceded
in death by his parents and a son, Michael Paul Alexander on Dec. 6, 1990.
