A shooting affray occurred a few days ago, near crescent Hill, Bates county,
in which Allen Blout was seriously wounded with buckshot and his two sons
peppered with birdshot. The shooting was done by a man named W.S. Van Meter,
and the difficulty grew out of Van Meter dogging some hogs belonging to
Blout.
