Louady
May King
Mrs.
Lou King, native of Rock Port and a life long resident of this community,
died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Sebree, her son Earl’s father-in-law
and mother-in-law, at Tarkio, Saturday, November 7th.
Mrs. King has been in ill health for a long time and when her
condition became alarming some time ago she was taken to the Sebree
home for care and treatment.
The remains were brought to Rock Port Monday afternoon and the
funeral service was held at the Christian church by Rev. R. A. Karraker,
pastor of the Tarkio Christian church. Interment was at the Millsap cemetery west
of Rock Port.
Mrs. King’s maiden name was Louady May, she being the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Wiley May. She was born in Rock Port, December 19th,
1864. She was married to Henry
Beeman King in August 1885. He
died about 30 years ago. To
them were born two children – a son and a daughter.
The daughter, Mrs. Nick May, died August 17, 1918.
The son is Earl King, who has been an employee of the Burlington
railroad at Tarkio a number of years.
There are two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Besides these relatives, Mrs. King is survived by one sister,
Mrs. Sally Eilers of Scotts Bluff, Neb.
Three brothers, Ed, Lige, and John May are deceased.
Mrs.
King had been a member of the Christian church from early age and had
always been interested and active in the affairs of the church.
She was a meme of the Loyal Workers class of that organization.
With the exception of two years spent in Kansas, Mrs. King’s
entire life was spent in this community.
